West Virginia’s governor has released guidance for the re-opening of the state. Salons are in the first wave of the rollout, and there are a few things that are important to know.
As of today, the tentative opening will be Monday, May 4th. I usually take bookings 6 days a week, but for the foreseeable future, I will be working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and a half-day every other Saturday. The staff at the salon is staggering days to ensure that we have as few people in the shop as possible.
In order to help keep myself, you, and the general public safe I am asking clients to follow these guidelines:
For my part, I am:
I am also investigating placing a plexiglass divider at the manicure table, but I haven’t made that decision, and opening day isn’t far away.
I take your health, mine, my family’s, your family’s, and that of the public extremely seriously. I know we have all been doing our best for the greater good by staying at home, and now we are dipping our toes into a new experience.
Like many of you, this time has been a test to my anxiety. Fear of unknowingly spreading a virus to a vulnerable public, my family’s health, living without pay, fear of the future of my industry… All these things have weighed heavily on my mind. I want you to know that I think about how to do my job safely constantly.
We can’t control what anyone else does, only what we do, and I want you to feel a little safer knowing that I have been doing, and will continue to do, everything I can to do my job as safely as possible for everyone.
We haven’t yet received industry-specific guidelines from our State Board, but we still may. Without official guidance, we are doing our best to minimize risks to the best of our knowledge. We are not able to source or finance the amount of PPE other states are requiring for their salons, but have acquired some anyway. I cannot supply masks to clients, so use whatever you have as a face covering. I bought these from Amazon…
My booking is currently open for the days I will be working starting May 5th, so please feel free to get online at beautopianails.booksy.com to make your appointment today!
